What Is Ticket Series Explained?

Every Nagaland State Lottery ticket carries a series code: a one- or two-letter prefix printed directly above the six-digit ticket number. A complete ticket reference looks like B 456789, where B is the series and 456789 is the number. Both fields are mandatory when checking any prize tier; presenting the number alone is not sufficient for claim verification at any Nagaland lottery retailer or district treasury counter.

The Directorate prints multiple series per draw, typically A through F for daily draws and A through Z (or into double letters such as AA, AB) for high-demand bumper draws like the Dear Flamingo or Dear Ostrich. Each series contains exactly 1,00,000 tickets numbered 00000 to 99999, giving every series an independent but identical prize structure. The first prize, up to ₹1 crore on flagship draws, is awarded to one exact series-plus-number combination. Every other series sharing that same number qualifies only for the consolation prize of ₹1,000. Lower tiers (2nd prize ₹9,000; 3rd prize ₹500; 4th prize ₹250) apply across all series simultaneously without a series restriction.

Checking your series on a smartphone takes under two minutes. Open the official Nagaland State Lotteries result page in any mobile browser, or install the Lottery Sambad app from the Google Play Store. Filter by draw name and date, then locate the first-prize row, it displays the winning series letter alongside the six-digit number in bold. Compare both fields against your physical ticket before celebrating or discarding it.

If you purchased a digital lottery ticket through a state-authorised e-retailer, your series code appears inside the booking confirmation SMS or the app's "My Tickets" section. Do not rely on payment apps such as PhonePe, GPay, or BHIM to display series data, those apps process the UPI transaction only and store no lottery ticket metadata. For result verification, always use the official Nagaland Lotteries portal at nagalandlotteries.nic.in or the authorised Lottery Sambad result feed, both of which update within 30 minutes of each draw.

Ticket Series Explained Step by Step

1. Locate your series letter. Hold the physical ticket face-up. The series is the uppercase letter(s) printed immediately before the space that separates it from the six-digit number, for example, C 102938.
2. Note your full draw details. Record the draw name, draw date, and draw time (morning 1 PM / evening 6 PM / night 8 PM) printed on the ticket.
3. Access the official result. Visit the official Nagaland Lotteries portal and select the matching draw and date from the dropdown.
4. Check the first-prize line first. It reads: "1st Prize ₹X, [Series] [Number]." Match your series letter first, then the number.
5. Check the consolation prize line. If your number matches but your series differs, you win the consolation prize, confirm the amount on that result sheet before visiting a retailer.
6. Scan all lower tiers. Prize rows from 2nd prize downward list winning numbers without any series restriction, so match your six-digit number against each row independently.
